The Southern Region of Vermont

The Southern region of Vermont is comprised of Bennington and Windham counties, within which you'll find towns including Arlington, Bennington, Dorset, Glastenbury, Landgrove, Manchester, Peru, Pownal, Readsboro, Rupert, Sandgate, Searsburg, Shaftsbury, Stamford, Sunderland, Winhall, Woodford, Athens, Bellows Falls, Brattleboro, Brookline, Dover, West Dover, Dummerston, Grafton, Guilford, Halifax, Jamaica, Londonderry, Marlboro, Newfane, Putney, Rockingham, Somerset, Stratton, Townshend, Vernon, Wardsboro, Westminster, Whitingham, Wilmington and Windham. Southern Vermont is also home to skiing and snowboarding at the Mount Snow, Bromley, Stratton and Magic mountain resorts, as well as nordic skiing at the Prospect Mountain, Timber Creek, Brattleboro Outing Club, Stratton Mountain, Hildene, Wild Wings, Viking and Grafton Ponds cross county ski centers. Just a short drive from New York's capital region, southern New Hampshire and western Massachusetts, Southern VT is the most accessible region for activities year-round.
